Nikki & Andy Burdon took over this 17th Century Pub in July 2006. Nikki has always wanted to return and run the pub having worked here as Head Chef 13 years earlier.
Whilst only a couple of minutes from the A32, the pub sits in a tranquil setting, sitting by the village green and close to the Church, and is often referred to as the centre of the village.
Maintaining a village atmosphere is very important to Nikki and Andy and the “public bar” proves to be a popular meeting place with notice boards for local events and businesses.
Since qualifying as a chef Nikki has worked in a number of places including Hotels in London and Australia and was Head Chef at the Pub Food of the Year a few years ago.
